Afterglow Candids: Our Take On Wedding Photography

Your wedding day is the end of the first book in your love story and the start of the next book as a married couple.  Like a story, weddings are filled with many moving elements — the setting, the people, and the stories connecting everything — which is why we designed Afterglow Candids to be a mix of Documentary and Guided Candid photography.  As photographers who are also avid readers, we approach weddings the same way we approach a good story.  Before the wedding, we get to know you, your love story, and the inspiration for your special day.  Starting from your inquiry, we learn more about when your special day is, where it is, and your theme.  After reviewing an inquiry we set up a virtual meeting to learn more about you and your partner on a more personal level.  In this informal meeting we learn:


  • How you met.
  • How long you’ve been together.
  • What you look forward to most about your wedding day.
  • Your must have portraits, and who you want portraits with.
  • Anything unique to your relationship that you are including in your wedding day.


Think of this meeting as a recap of the previous book before diving into the next one.  This recap helps us understand you as a couple, your plot line, and plans for the next chapter.  It helps us build a list for your "must haves" and "would be nice" shots for your curated album.



Afterglow Candids is a little different than other roaming photography experiences.  Our second shooter also doubles as a Roaming Photo Booth photographer.  This Photo Booth captures shots from your special day with instant sharing to guests and includes a frame designed specifically for your wedding.  Your inquiry and the responses from our meeting helps us learn more about you and the details you put into planning your wedding.   These details then helps us design a few frame templates.  Whether you want something simple or bold, we send you options to choose from with your proposal.  Roaming Photo Booth photos can be delivered completely digitally, via text, or printed on-site as a memento from your wedding.


Long after the music fades and your guests return home, the moments captured by Afterglow Candids will become photos echoing the stories written on your wedding day.  From the posed portrait shots of you and your loved ones to the candid photos, each is a memory captured in time.  Whether they become a social media post you get memory notifications from or a page in your scrap book, they are moments that you can relive over and over.
